Creating content. This is where it gets tricky for me. I do try to learn from other artist-content creators. There are so many great tips out there on social media, from posting regularly to knowing your audience to finding a solution to a problem. So much advice, but something felt off.
And once again, since I started here on Substack and sent newsletters sporadically, I came back with a drastic decision.
With me being on vacation until the end of this year (by choice), came the overwhelming realizations.

And it turns out to be a bot. After sharing my well-thought-out art, I would find myself swiping down notifications, hoping for a reaction from a real person or any reaction at all. *Shakes my head to wake up from the situation*
I didn’t see this coming when I first posted my art online.
That good advice
One of the tips that I saw in making content was to reuse old works and present them in different ways. “Instant” content. It IS a good advice, and I would definitely follow it.
But the problem arises when drafts and unfinished new works kept piling up. Instead of making art, I was just making content for social media. Then, I go back to… *ding*!
Looking for inspiration
It’s nice to see great artists online, and their works help me with art block. But I often forget how beautiful the outside world is. I mean, I know that there are so many ideas I can catch out there. But I succumb to…
☠️ Doom scrolling ☠️
I’ll admit. There are numerous social media posts that pique my interest. One video leads to another, and another, and another. The next thing I know, the sun has already set, and I have lost my precious time.
My solution to a paralyzing cycle...
Delete my social media apps! Yes, I deleted them all — Facebook, X, TikTok, and Instagram! How long I can keep up until withdrawal symptoms manifest, I don't know. 😂 One thing I do know: I'm hopeful and excited! 🤩
It’s a drastic measure that I think I need in order to focus on making art. Art that, I hope, you will enjoy with me. This platform also allows me to tell you more stories without constricting myself in a certain format. Isn’t that nice? 😄
Now (*inhale*)… Back to the drawing board, or rather, my drafts! 👩🏻🎨
